English textbooks have gone through dramatic changes since the f淡斑方法,ounding ofthe People's Republic of China in 1949.开國70年以来，中國的英語教诲履历了坎坷的变革。在其变革进程中，课本作為施行英語讲授的重要前言，也跟着期間的变革而变革。
1. 1949-1976
For older generations in China, the primary foreign language they werefamiliar with was usually not English, but Russian.
在很多老一辈國人的印象中，他们熟知的第一外語并不是英語，而是俄語。
In the early years of People's Republic of China, China learned from theformer Soviet Union and developed its own educational system. English was stilltaught in some secondary schools, but Russian was the preferred language.
新中國建立后，我國鉴戒前苏联教诲履历，成长新中國的教诲奇迹。英語依然在平凡中學继续开授，可是俄語力压英語。
